2012 UPDATE: I have additional Versions of The Irish Blessings HERE!
May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be ever at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
And the rain fall softly on your fields,
and until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand
~Traditional Irish Blessing
So I have been telling myself, don't get caught up in all of the cute Saint Patrick's Day crafts, you have never decorated for the holiday in the past, you will be fine.... Well, this past weekend, I heard for the first time the Traditional Irish Blessing at church. The words are so sweet they really touched me, so I decided it would be a great way for me to decorate for Saint Patrick's Day.
I decided to make my first printable. I am so excited to share it with you! I used Photoshop to create them, and I found an awesome brush set by Obsidian Down on
Brusheezy, and the font at
Dafont.com. I hope you enjoy them, I made them both 8x10 so you can shrink them down if you need!

I made this one more traditional, here is the
link.

I was going more for a modern clean look on this one! Here is the
link.
I have more of a vintage style, so for my house I choose to use the the first Printable. I bought an inexpensive frame.

I painted the frame off-white with craft paint.

I then glazed the frame with a dark brown color. If you would like to learn more about glazing, go over to Brook's blog,
All Things Thrifty, she is amazing! She taught me all I know about glazing! I then sprayed a clear finish on the frame to give it a little bit of a shine, and to conceal it good.

Of course I had to add some bling, I made a simple shamrock out of ribbon, and put a rhinestone in the middle.

And here is the final product, I really love how it turned out. My Irish ancestors would be proud!

It is a great addition to the top of my piano.

I think the ribbon shamrocks turned out sweet. I might have to make my girls some shamrock hair things.

I hope you enjoy this little poem as much as I do! This is my first time sharing a printable, so if you have any trouble please let me know.
