Popcorn Balls
Ingredients:

3/4
cup light corn syrup
1/4
cup margarine
2 teaspoons cold water
1 teaspoon vanilla

1
1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1
1/2 cup marshmallows
½
teaspoon salt
Red cinnamon gummy candy
18 cups plain popped popcorn

Directions:

In
a large bowl, mix the plain popcorn and the red cinnamon gummy candy, set
aside. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the corn syrup, margarine,
cold water, confectioners' sugar, salt, and marshmallows. Heat and stir until
the mixture comes to a boil. Add vanilla. Carefully combine the hot mixture
with the popcorn, coating each kernel.

Grease
hands with vegetable shortening and quickly shape the coated popcorn into
balls before it cools. Wrap with cellophane or plastic wrap and store at room
temperature.

Delicious, the perfect blend of sweet and salty! These are gooey but not overly sticky, which I appreciate as a mom!

ReplyDeleteMy grandma and grandpa used to always make popcorn balls! I've never tried to make my own but I bet it would be fun! And how ADORABLE are your kiddos?!?
ReplyDeleteOH these look so good and the kids are too darn cute! I used to love the Waltons! I ordered a DVD set of the first season a few months back and have been watching old episodes...love them as much now as long ago!
ReplyDeleteI have always loved popcorn balls! We had a neighbor growing up that made them for trick or treaters at Halloween! She was always our first stop!!!
