In case you missed it this is the recipe I shared at Seven Alive a couple weeks ago!
I don't know what it is like where you are, but here it is HOT!! So I thought I would share a recipe with you today to help you beat the heat! When my hubby and I first started dating, it was a tradition for us to visit his Grandma every Sunday. She was a fabulous cook, and one of my favorite summer time treats she gave us was this refreshing summer slush! This recipe is also a big deal because it has made it into my Black Book of Recipes!
Summer Time Slush
Adapted from: Karla Bench; Moroni Cook
Book
Ingredients:
6 cups water
½ cup sugar
1 (12 oz) container orange juice concentrate
5 medium bananas
1 (46 oz) can pineapple juice
2-1/2 gallon containers or one-gallon
freezer container for slush
(Old ice cream buckets
work great)
Sprite or 7 up
Instructions:
Stir water, sugar, orange juice
concentrate, and pineapple juice together until dissolved. Mash bananas, and stir into juice
mixture. Pour into two large ½
gallon containers, or one large gallon container. {Old ice cream buckets work the best if you have one}. Let
freeze completely.
When ready to serve let slush thaw at room
temperature for about ½ hour, then scoop by spoon fulls into ice-cold lemon
lime soda! Relax and ENJOY the heat!
This is what it looks like pre-frozen!
Have I convinced you yet?
This is a GREAT recipe to have on hand for those unexpected summer guests! This is a family favorite at our house, I hope it will become one at yours too!

These sound great!! Perfect for the 100degree temps we have in Arkansas during August! ~Amber of WhatAmberLoves.com
