SO it is pretty simple if I catch them doing something nice for their sibling, or doing something nice in general they can put a sticker on the tree. It is a simple way to shift the focus from thinking of your own needs to thinking of the needs of your family, and working as a team. Our one rule is you can not tell mom when you have done something nice, but you can tell me if you have seen a brother or sister do something nice. When the tree is full we will do something fun as a family!
It does not solve all of the worlds problems, but it does help!
How do you help your kids get along during the summer?
I like to LINK To these parties!

So funny. My grandma did the same thing with us! But she called them brownie points and if/when we hit the designated amount of points she would make us a special treat to eat, Usually about once a week. It was fun to "spy" on our sibilings looking for the nice things they did.
ReplyDeleteI love how simple this one is. I remember the good ole days of making charts and sometime they were just too much! This one is A+ on my scatle.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, Carlee!

ReplyDeleteI've nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award. Thanks for being so inspiring to me (and I'm sure many other bloggers) every single day! Congratulations! http://www.waittilyourfathergetshome.com/2012/06/27/the-versatile-blogger-award/
Super great idea! Love it!! I have an only kiddo, but she has so many friends over all the time...I think this could work with them too. (It's like I have 4!)
