Popcorn Valentine!

"Love is sharing your popcorn" ~Charles Shultz
I am a huge cheese ball when it comes to making Valentines, I love them! I have so many happy memories of classroom valentines day parties, as a student and a teacher! I think it is so much fun to make Valentines for friends and family. I am excited to share the Valentines we are making this year.
I made a deck of cards from one of my favorite companies in the world Heritage Makers! I love Heritage Makers because it gives you a blank canvas, and thousands of digital scrapbook kits to design your project, if you are a Premier Member. Plus everything is online so you don't take up space on the hard drive. The deck of cards cost me $20, I bought it on sale, they are usually $24.95, not bad right for 54 cards! Check it out if you have not already!
This is what the back of the cards look like:
This is what the front of the cards look like, I did a design for each of my kids! (Sorry my photoshop job is not the best today, I need a mouse for my laptop!)
For my oldest daughters card I scanned her own handwriting for her name, it looks darling! I wish I could show you but I am a little bit timid about putting my kids pictures and names all over the internet!
I love how they turned out! Next, we made Cherry Glazed popcorn using my new toy from Christmas the Whirley Pop! It is super easy, here is how you make it.

Cherry Glazed Popcorn
1/2 cup Popcorn kernels
1/4 cup Cherry Glaze Pop mine is Gold Medal brand (You can get this online or at a restaurant
supply store)
1 Tablespoon oil
Simply put the popcorn popper on stove at medium heat add oil and popcorn kernels, once they start getting hot slowly add the Cherry Glaze. So easy and so DELICIOUS! My favorite feature of this recipe is it is NOT STICKY at all, it is kind of a hard candy glaze, so no sticky fingers for my little kiddos (and no mad Kindergarten teacher with 16 sticky-handed students!). If you have any great recipes for stove top popcorn poppers, do let me know! It has made our movie night so much fun!
Then all we did is put the popcorn in a cute bag, my daughter wrote her classmates name on a heart, and we put it all together with ribbon! We will also make some for our extended family! The kids are super excited to hand them out!
I love to link up to these fabulous parties, come join the fun.

  7. What a fantastic idea! The cards turned out so cute! I would have never thought to add cherry flavoring to popcorn. Thanks for sharing.

  8. What an awesome idea for the cards. My family loves to play cards. I shall steal this idea and start creating packs of cards for gifts.

Do kids still bring popcorn balls to school. I remember those being so popular when I was young.

  9. How fun! I am definitely going to try the popcorn recipe. Looks delish! Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving me a comment.

  10. Wow, thanks for all the comments! Megan, your family would have so much fun with a personalized set of cards. The best part of the popcorn, is it is not sticky at all... It is kind of a hard candy glaze over the popcorn... So not too messy!
